At Realwork, your privacy is fundamental to everything we build. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and name from your authentication provider (Google).
Usage Data: We collect basic analytics about how you use the web dashboard, such as pages visited and features used.
Recording Data: The Realwork Mac app records your work sessions locally on your device. This data is only uploaded to our servers when you explicitly choose to publish a proof. Published proofs include video recordings and cryptographic signatures.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Authenticate your account and secure your data
- Host and serve your published proofs
- Send you important updates about the service
- Respond to your questions and support requests
3. Data Storage & Security
Local-First Architecture: All recordings are stored locally on your Mac by default. We never have access to your unpublished work sessions.
Encryption: Data transmitted to our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS. Published proofs are stored securely on Cloudflare R2.
Secure Enclave: Cryptographic keys used for signing proofs are generated and stored in your Mac's Secure Enclave hardware, where they cannot be extracted.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service Providers: Third-party services that help us operate (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics)
- Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights
- Your Published Proofs: When you publish a proof, it becomes publicly accessible via your profile
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and download your data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Unpublish proofs you've previously shared
- Opt out of non-essential communications

6. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use privacy-focused analytics (PostHog) to understand how our service is used. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
